Beatrix Potter Inspired paintings

Peter Rabbit... rather pensive

Love his blue coat!

Old Benjamin Bunny

Love this one. Very ethereal. I just used acrylic craft paint, watered down to create a wash!
Mural Painting for a nursery. " Story Book" themed.  Very cute room to start with. LOVE The vintage birdcage in the corner. I could not resist painting the little birdies around it.  The Crystal Chandelier was from Pottery Barn Kids I believe... adorable touch.
Foxglove flowers, inspired by Beatrix Potter's books

The mamma to be informed me that the carpet is now in and the room is filling up fast!

Current Projects

I have an issue with not always completing one project before starting a new one!  I call it " getting bit by the bug"!  I picture something ( and duh, of course I can do that!) and have to jump right now.
Recently finishing an adorable nursery mural, I was "hired" to create some custom paintings based on the beloved Beatrix Potter book The Tale of Peter Rabbit and The Tale of Benjamin Bunny.  I have never painted in this style before, but new it would be fun to try!  I think that they have turned out pretty cute!
Now on to something else I've not done before... painting a large scale piece of furniture. I got this piece because it was orange ( to go with my orange couch and orange kitchen of course!) NOT "hazard cone orange" but burnt, warm orange.
So I get this huge thing inside. Sort of sad to part with the piece of furniture who's place it is taking, as I spent nearly an entire summer refinishing that piece ( Pictures of that later...?) but excited for a change. However... ta-da, there was too much orange!!  So... what to do?  Go for a complementary color... my favorite Hue. PEACOCK BLUE!  Working hard to get it finished. I just happend to find a gorgeous Peacock Vase at Home Goods to place on top. What a nice balance to the 5ft tall wooden peacock on the other side of the room.
